International Day of Happiness

March 20th 2026 has become a global excuse to be happy—no permission slip required! 🎉 Happiness is actually a serious human goal (even if it involves smiling at strangers or doing a happy wiggle).

The United Nations agrees that the world works better when people feel good, so they encourage countries to focus not just on money, but also on fairness, balance, well-being, and making life nicer for everyone—not just a lucky few.

That means governments should protect human rights, care for the planet, and make policies that help people live happier lives (yes, this includes the famous 17 Sustainable Development Goals—basically a to-do list for a better world).

Turns out that peace, fair rules, good public services, and less chaos all make people happier—who would’ve guessed? 😄

So, the United Nations invites everyone—kids, adults, classrooms, offices, and even governments—to celebrate the International Day of Happiness.

Smiles highly encouraged, grumpiness optional, Ice cream mandatory.
